Winnie Babirye is a volunteer at the Uganda Community-Based Association for Women and Children’s Welfare (UCOBAC).
She is a professional social worker with over five years of experience in academic, programmatic, and policy research. Winnie has worked as a part-time Research Fellow in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (SWSA) at Makerere University and with Research In-Depth Africa. Her research has focused on key areas such as Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Child Protection.
Winnie is passionate about promoting gender equality and has a strong interest in working with women and children to advance their rights and well-being.
She holds a Master’s degree in Social Sector Planning and Management, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration, both from Makerere University.
