Caroline Namuzimule Kayanja

Caroline Kayanja is a social worker who has integrated her skills with legal practice to passionately serve communities and support their transformation. She is currently the Senior Program Officer in charge of Women’s Land and Property Rights at the Uganda Community Based Association for Women and Children’s Welfare (UCOBAC).

Caroline is also the facilitator of the International Land Coalition (ILC), a regional platform that promotes equal land rights across Central, Eastern, Western, and Southern Africa. In addition, she serves as the lead coordinator of the Stand for Her Land Campaign in Uganda, working with a wide network of civil society organizations committed to advancing women’s land rights.

She was part of the team that contributed to the development of the Women’s Land Rights Agenda of Uganda and possesses extensive knowledge in social transformative change, having participated in the working group behind the development and implementation of the Social Norms Transformation curriculum.

As a team leader, Caroline has championed capacity-building efforts on land issues, particularly women’s land rights, in the districts of Mityana, Mubende, Kassanda, and the Karamoja sub-region.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, a Diploma in Law, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Social Sector Planning and Management.
